hubby has promised to buy me a horse and i am going to start to look around soon, just wondered if anyone knew if the spotty sale at york in september would be worth going to, do they have decent horses, i would need a horse 100% in traffic and i would have to share with my daughters and whereby i had horses for 20 years prior to having my children my daughteres have only had lessons at a riding school so the horse would need to be bomb-proof but not a plod, has anyone any experience of going to york. thanks in advance

Now you've started something!
We all do the pilgrimage to York every spotties sale. It's a tradition with us. Ask Trish about the cow pie !!
It used to be much better. Quality of animals has deteriorated over the last few years and there are usually many more coloureds than spotties turn up these days, with very few main registered animals coming forward. We all use it as an excuse to meet and catch up. We once wore rosettes to identify us which was hilarious on the day...total strange faces tapping each other on the shoulders. Come along and meet the gang if nothing else. I guarantee you'll enjoy the day (and the meat pies) xpaula

Yup.......the cow pie just....WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep as Paula ses.our yearley meet up point! But beware...........if an animal was THAT safe etc......except in extreme circumstances......why would it end up at the sales? Unless buying a youngster- ld be extreamley carefull! Look on spotties.com site- or troll through the ads on internet or in the paper. At least you,d be able to go along- take a good hard long look- get it vetted- and above all try it out more! Hope this helps, Trish.x.x.
