Oh Trish So sorry. I know just how you must be feeling. I went through it hundreds of times until I finally gave up and let the whole bunch of hens and geese go to new honmes. It was a relief in a way, not having the responsibility but I do miss those golden yolks you only get with your own free range birds paula x

Well on a happier note-another 11 chickens turned up today! DONT KNOW where they were hiding- but- just glad they did! Anyway old Cock bod escaped! The chucks didnt turn up (STILL dont know where they were) untill about 11am! The yard seemed so empty without 30 odd chucks running around! With just 6 chucks around- they seemed lost!3 of our liveries all said the same (AND these were the ones who ALWAYS complained about the mess the chucks made- espech in there bedded down stables!) So......lm a happy bunny now- at lest we have half the broodey bunch left- so more chuckey eggs! YAY! Paula- l,ll fetch you some up!!!!!! Found out where foxy loxy lives- down the bottom of our Appie field where there are a large clump of trees! My son went to the scene of the crime- feathers & dead chucks all around! 3 large holes under a dead tree- will have to get the "fox man" in-so far seen 3 different foxes! Strange how you get to know them!
